JOB SUMMARY This position will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing & Community Engagement. The University of California, Irvine supports 18 Division-I intercollegiate athletic programs. This position will serve as the department's primary graphic designer supporting all external communications pieces across multiple applications including website, social media, printed materials and video. As a member of the marketing staff this position will be involved in all aspects of marketing, including: planning; advertising; promotion; public relations; program and product development; distribution; and research to meet the department's goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong graphic design skill set and experience working with a Division I athletics program or similar sports brand.
Salary: Hourly $21.54 - $25.42 Total Hours: 8-5, M-F varies with sports Career Position
Proficient in graphic design software, Adobe Creative Suite / Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign /Dreamweaver.
Working knowledge of desktop publishing software.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Very strong organizational skills.
Must possess a proactive, problem-solving approach to work. Willing to demonstrate an above and beyond approach to work and take on new projects for the overall good of the department.
Knowledge of digital media and strategies to integrate social media into traditional marketing plans.
Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Ability to work within a team environment and work towards a common, over-arching goal.
Open attitude toward direction, evaluation and professional feedback.
Availability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as the job requires
Desire to learn new areas of the business and take on new projects as needed.
Knowledge of and willingness to abide by all applicable NCAA, Big West Conference, UC Irvine and State of California rules and regulations.
