Directs a comprehensive marketing program for the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts. Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic marketing and operating plans; directs a team of marketing professionals to support the marketing needs of the college.
Directs a comprehensive marketing program, including research strategy and execution, designed to support the college’s strategic goals and objectives.
Develops and implements strategic marketing and operating plans to advance the college; directs college-wide marketing, branding and image building campaigns and efforts to increase awareness and enhance the overall university image.
Oversees market research efforts for the college.
Directs and participates in other advancement activities, including strategic planning, market research and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
Directs college-wide training, development and resources for college marketing and communications; engages and educates the college community on marketing initiatives, messages, etc.
Develops college processes, systems and tools for the development and implementation of marketing plans and initiatives.
Directs operations, including management of staff, planning and administration of budget and resources.
Provides leadership and serves as a resource for the college regarding successful marketing activities, techniques and methods; stays abreast of best practices in integrated marketing, brand messaging and current market trends in higher education, and translates that understanding into successful strategic marketing for the college.
Directs the strategic marketing, branding and content of the college web site.
Performs other job-related duties as required
The Director of Marketing will be responsible for articulating a marketing strategy that will raise the visibility and profile of the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts at the University of Houston. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Director will work with College faculty and staff to facilitate the College’s efforts to build audience and make the University of Houston Campus and Houston arts communities aware of the College’s strategic objectives; its successes locally, nationally, and internationally; and its annual program of exhibitions and performances in all of the visual and performing arts disciplines. The successful candidate will be capable of managing multiple priorities of multiple clients with a wide diversity of needs, in a fast-paced office environment; will be capable of directing and evaluating effective visual communication design; will be a team player who brings a collegial, problem-solving approach to a highly complex, active, comprehensive visual and performing arts college; and will be a passionate, energetic, and tenacious professional dedicated to excellence in the arts.
Bachelors and 5 years experience
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
