Northeastern's Office of Annual Giving is seeking a motivated, upbeat, and enthusiastic Assistant Director to oversee our student telemarketing program, the Husky Call Center, and to support our digital marketing efforts. The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Annual Giving and is part of a team that works toward meeting the university's alumni participation goal by soliciting gifts from our alumni and other constituencies.
In overseeing the Husky Call center, the Assistant Director will work closely with the Director of Annual Giving and other staff to develop annual participation strategies to deploy over the phone. They will be responsible for all aspects of staffing the Husky Call Center, running two evening calling shifts each week with a focus on meeting participation goals while maintaining a fun, encouraging, and positive environment in the calling room.
Primary phone program duties include: setting goals and tracking progress through nightly and weekly reporting; developing an annual calling calendar and pledge fulfillment strategy; maintaining calling scripts as well as stewardship and fulfillment materials; recruiting, hiring and training student callers and supervisors; regular caller performance evaluations; developing caller motivation/incentive strategies; coordinating call assignments; conducting call monitoring and caller coaching; and serving as the primary liaison with our software vendor. The Assistant Director will manage 25-40 student callers per semester as well as student supervisors as necessary.
In addition, the Assistant Director will play a critical role in supporting our expanding digital marketing efforts. Working closely with the Associate Director of Annual Giving Marketing, he or she will help to manage all aspects of the annual giving email marketing program, including building/laying out marketing pieces, pulling mailing lists and helping to coordinate the tracking of email results and capture of other data. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for maintaining the annual giving website, including the Fund Explorer, conducting regular audits of online content and suggesting content updates as necessary.
Bachelor's degree and one to three years of annual giving, telemarketing, or applicable marketing experience required. Experience managing student worker or working in higher education calling center experience very strongly preferred. This position requires excellent spoken, written and interpersonal skills. The ability to motivate and manage a diverse group of student employees is essential.
An aptitude for numbers and analysis is important and familiarity/comfort working with Microsoft Excel is a must. Experience with HTML or content management systems is also beneficial.

Evening and occasional weekend work is required to fulfill job responsibilities. All candidates must be able and willing to work independently and unsupervised on nights and weekends; the typical hours for this position are:
9:00am-5pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday (and Tuesday & Thursday when calling is not in session)
1:00pm-9:00pm on Tuesday & Thursday for the majority of the academic year (when calling is in session)
