The Vice President – Member Competency & Learning is a key position responsible for the development of learning products and sales and marketing that leads a team of approximately 15 -20 professionals, who develop sales and marketing strategy, and produce and deliver learning products to CPAs, management accounting professionals and other finance professionals. Responsibilities also include the direct oversight of national business development efforts, both enterprise sales and channel management. A key accountability is to strategically align learning technologies and product sales to advance the CPA profession and competitiveness of CPA members, firms and employers. The position is responsible for more than $10M in revenues and strategic state wide and national growth is an essential aspect of the position’s responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop short and long-range strategies focused on meeting or exceeding P&L targets. Oversee the development of all teams’ strategic operating plans and measure individual teams’ progress against clear goals and objectives.
Enhance the product development lifecycle to optimize speed to market and quality delivery for all product portfolios. Ensure product portfolios are relevant and meeting member needs.
Lead development and execution of clear pricing strategy for products and services.
Collaborate with Finance, Membership, Brand and other teams on strategic effort to enhance market position, drive growth and increase member value.
Develop strong and effective relationships with external parties such as AICPA, state CPA society leadership, key conference leaders, global associations and others that may be identified.
Understand the strategic direction of major competitors as well as other key marketplace influencers that impact customer acquisition and retention and influence the strategic plan accordingly.
Primary architect of organization’s product sales strategy, including setting sales targets, developing strategic sales plans and ensuring coordination and strategic alignment between all sales and business development efforts.
Provides oversight to ensure that sales strategies are implemented in a way that meets short and long-term sales and profit goals. Acts as the organization’s chief salesperson in deals requiring top-to-top negotiation and/or selling.

Proven leadership and established relationships with customers and partners
Must have developed strong relationships resulting in revenue with large accounts.

Demonstrated skills in complex decision-making, problem-solving and planning.
Ability to manage multiple business relationships and resolve conflicting priorities of a member organization in a win-win manner.
Excellent proven leadership and management of people to drive results, create effective, engaged and motivated teams.
Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
Travel requirements - 20-25%.
