Reporting to the Director of Creative and Content Marketing as a part of the creative team for the Office of Marketing and Communications, the Content Marketing Writer is a creative communications professional with a strong background in writing and editing for higher education student recruitment, student engagement, alumni engagement, fundraising, and stewardship.
The Content Marketing Writer develops original content strategies and content for a variety of communications in support of the Kelley School's student recruitment, student engagement, alumni engagement, fundraising, and stewardship initiatives, including web content, emails, digital ads, landing pages, blog posts, print publications, event communications, and newsletters, among others. The Content Marketing Writer will be charged with developing effective storytelling approaches in crafting compelling, data-driven, action-oriented messaging and content and working collaboratively with designers, web developers, videographers, photographers, and editors in project creation and delivery.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, informatics, marketing, or related field and three years of marketing communications experience.
Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Professional-level writing and editing skills. Demonstrated track record of producing high-quality marketing communications content that makes an impact with key audiences/constituents. Experience working with Microsoft Office programs, web content management systems, and email marketing programs. Experience in marketing communications in the role of content developer, web writer, writer/editor, publications specialist, public relations specialist, communications assistant, or other positions where writing and editing are the primary responsibilities. High-level skills in working with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Web Content Management Systems.
Five years of experience in higher education or an organization or agency with a record of marketing/public relations work for clients with multiple audiences and many products. Experience with Google Analytics or other analytics measurement tools.
