The Director of Admissions Marketing & Communications oversees all strategies of internal and external communication and marketing for both Undergraduate & Graduate and Professional Admissions. Directly manageme of CRM Strategies, creating and implementing an electronic communications and social media plan, and overseeing graphic design projects as part of marketing and communications activities in Admissions. The person in this role will drive the generation of new and innovative marketing and communications strategies and see those strategies from idea stage all the way through successful execution. The incumbent is also responsible for editing and assisting in the production of admissions marketing materials and ensuring that both internal and external web and publication content related to Undergraduate & Graduate and Professional Admissions is up-to-date and relevant for prospective students and families. The ideal candidate will possess high levels of both creativity and detail-orientation, along with the self-motivation to continue multiple projects through to completion simultaneously. Supervises the Marketing and Communications team which includes professional staff, students and contractors.
Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred
5-7 years admissions and marketing experience, at least one year of each.
Candidates with only admissions or marketing experience will be considered if they have a total of 5+ years of experience in either field.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
Directly oversee all marketing and communications strategies, efforts and functions for Undergraduate & Graduate and Professional Admissions including, but not limited to:
All CRM strategies, including the creation of content and evaluation of messaging effectiveness
Keep staff informed of relevant information related to all SRM strategies and processes
Liaise with other offices as necessary based on their engagement with SRM
Assist with training for staff members on SRM module
Implement and track email communications to prospective students
Research new ideas and initiatives regarding electronic marketing and communications and discuss potential strategies with all leaders in Admissions
Help develop comprehensive parent marketing and communication strategies in concert with UG Admissions leadership in order to promote APU to applicant parents on a parallel track with applicants
Creation and production of graphic design pieces
Creation, production, and editing of video assets to be used in Admissions recruitment
Work with vendors to ensure accurate representation of APU on all channels including, but not limited to, RaiseMe, Cappex, Hobsons, EAB/Royall
Oversee Admissions websites and manage web content on APU Admissions websites and all outside vendor websites
Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of UG Admissions website and all related sites
Work closely with Graduate and Professional Technology Solutions to identify new digital tools to improve the channels of communication for Enrollment Management as a whole
Coordinate work with University Relations on production of Admissions Marketing Materials including:
General Information Brochure, Financial Aid Brochure, Timeline Postcard, Major Fact Sheets, Transfer Brochure, Event-related Brochures and Registration Websites
Additional publications for inquiry and applicant funnels
Supervise Marketing and Communication Staff:
Interview and selection process; on-going supervision, evaluation and training; evaluation of projects
Develop and implement social media strategy
Oversee and curate Admissions social media presence across multiple platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Zinch and RaiseMe
Develop social media enhancement strategies in consultation with Admissions leadership
Attend appropriate conferences for marketing strategy development purposes
Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Collaborates with office leadership in regularly-scheduled meetings to increase effectiveness of recruitment, roster management, hiring and training processes.
May participate in on-campus admissions events involving student recruitment and pre-registration.
Represent University at designated conferences and events.
Regular, punctual attendance.

Graphic design and video editing capabilities
Supervising others in production of graphic design and video projects
Ability to meet tight deadlines and produce marketing content quickly

High levels of knowledge of computer generated databases, spreadsheets, and word processing programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Comfortable with self-teaching and mastery of new technology, including Google Apps to implement for improved business processes
Understanding of business software packages, computer report software and data analysis software
Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers
Detail-orientated with superior organizational skills
Able to perform a high quantity of work with excellent quality
Excellent reading and proofreading skills required
