Overview of role This role is a maternity cover for the Head of our Financial Institutions and Strategic Accounts division within the Intermediary Marketing team. The role will see the candidate managing all aspects of the marketing mix to support the goal of raising awareness of Schroders in the IFA space while also promoting the investment solutions appropriate for this segment. Helping to develop the overall strategy while also having a hands on approach to implementation is the scope of this position. This is a high visibility position within Schroders and will involve dealing with multiple areas including investment desks, compliance and sales. Critical aspects of this role include:
A particular focus on events implementation. Schroders participates in numerous partner events (the PFS, Panacea, etc.) throughout the year. You will be required to work closely with sales and various external partners to ensure Schroders is supporting the needs of the client while at the same time providing opportunities for us to present our services and products. These activities are normally educational in nature, so the ability to tie a solution to a higher theme is often needed,
Have an understanding of key internal partners like Cazenove Capital and Benchmark Capital. There are numerous areas of Schroders that can touch the IFA market. You will need to ensure there is clear commination around activities as well as close collaboration on activities which may see us at the same event.
Content creation and dissemination. Content is an important element of the Schroders marketing mix. Being aware of what content is in the pipeline while also working with the investment writing team to curate content is a large part of this role
Manage one direct report. Provide guidance on all areas of marketing and the businesses to one direct report and the wider team as required.
Relationships. Close working relationships are essential to the success of this role- You will need to develop strong working relationships with the relevant sales and business development teams. You will also need to develop and support relationships with key clients such as the PFS, Lighthouse, CISI etc., but also with ratings agencies such as Rayner Spencer Mills and Squaremile.
Budget management. You will be responsible for the management of the FISA marketing budget, ensuring that spend is managed to budget and used most effectively. Regular monitoring and reporting is important.
Experience in the financial sector and preferably in asset management marketing
Deep understanding of the IFA marketplace;
Must understand investment solutions such as Multi-Manager, Multi-Asset and Model Portfolio Solutions;
Experience in team management;
A genuine interest in financial markets;
A mind-set that is curious and seeks to identify new approaches to continue to evolve best-in-class marketing activities while remaining commercially aware;
Comfortable working within complex situations with considerable grey areas;
Ability to build strong relationships with various stakeholders across the business;
Strong communication skills with stakeholder management experience at all levels of the organisation;
A results and action orientated approach; ability to drive projects through to completion delivering clearly defined results or impact.
