Responsible for creating the look, layout, and features of websites for 11 or more departments of the Auxiliary Business Services group. The job involves understanding both graphic design and computer programming. Works with development teams or managers for keeping the site up-to-date and prioritizing needs, among other tasks.
Assigned to develop, refresh and redesign effective and appealing sites that are user-friendly; accurately represent the services of a particular department; and are compliant with current with IU and department branding guidelines.
Sites may combine text with sounds, photos, graphics and videos. Meets with managers and work with members of the marketing team to discuss project requirements, report on project progress, present drafts of new sites or new sections, and respond to feedback about sites. Participates in photo sessions and digitally retouch or edit images.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in field related to marketing, graphic design, and/or technology and two years of experience in retail and web design.
Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – especially Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Dreamweaver; expert knowledge of applications that use HTML5/CSS3, XML/SSLT, PHP, MySQL, WCMS.
