Northern Virginia based trade association seeks a design-minded Marketing Communications Manager to be responsible for managing the marketing communications and digital marketing activities.
Job responsibilities include general association communications and educational outreach to inform and support member companies and their employees, as well as promotion of meetings and events.
Marketing and Communications (60%):
Responsible for all aspects of association’s digital marketing presence.
Manage social media networks, including creating and designing posts.
Manage association website by creating and editing content, optimizing SEO, and developing analytics reports.
Write, edit and publish weekly electronic communications to include a monthly membership e-newsletter, a quarterly committee e-newsletter and a quarterly international trade update.
Create and oversee the design of collateral material, as needed.
Educational Outreach (20%):
Responsible for managing two national awareness campaigns. This will include managing social media networks, updating campaign website content and creating analytical reports for each campaign.
Annual Meeting (10%):
Attend one annual meeting each year and be responsible for onsite program scripts and slides and social media coverage.
4-6 years of experience in communications or marketing
Digital marketing and design experience required
Association or non-profit experience preferred
Proactive, creative approach to communicating marketing messages, including use of graphics/visuals and multimedia beyond just written content
Writes clearly and persuasively in all situations
Detail-oriented; consistently produces high-quality work without close supervision
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with fast turnaround, while also managing larger longer-term projects and campaigns
Excellent interpersonal skills, outgoing personality, and desire to provide outstanding customer service.
TECHNOLOGY and SKILLS
Strong knowledge and experience with social media platforms including (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram).
Experience with Civi-CRM and Drupal Website preferred.
Experience with Google Analytics required
Proficient in Office 365 preferred.
Basic knowledge of HTML preferred
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign (or similar) and Photoshop (or similar) experience preferred
One annual association meeting in North America per year (5-6 days in length)
