The Institute for Innovation and Implementation at the University of Maryland, School of Social Work (The Institute) has an open position for a Lead Social Marketing Specialist (LSMS). The LSMS is responsible for providing technical assistance as part of the National Technical Assistance Network for Children's Behavioral Health (housed within The Institute). The LSMS will provide technical assistance pertaining to social marketing in children's behavioral health. This position will lead the development of technical assistance tools and resources for these grantees and will work closely with the director of media relations to support the marketing and communication needs of additional projects.
The Institute serves as a national training, technical assistance, evaluation, policy, systems design, and finance center that is focused on children's behavioral health. The Institute supports state and local governments and organizations to implement effective systems and practices to best meet the needs of children and youth with complex behavioral needs and their families. This support is provided through three primary centers within The Institute: National Center, Maryland Center and Texas Center. These centers work in an integrated fashion including best practices in implementation science to assist governmental and other organizational entities to achieve better outcomes for children, youth, and their families.

Collaborate with the National Technical Assistance Network for Children's Behavioral (TA Network) health leadership to develop effective, creative, and innovative strategies to market various initiatives, programs, or services for grantees.
Work to support grantees in creating Children's Mental Health Awareness Day events and resources
Collaborate with national partners on Children's Mental Health Awareness Day
Identify technical assistance needs related to strategic communications and social marketing and create a series of tools and resources including written products and webinars.
Manage the strategic communications and social marketing resources for inclusion on the Institute's website.
Develop training content related to strategic communications and social marketing in children's behavioral health.
Development of short- and long-term strategic communications and social marketing planning for the TA Network. Accountable for success of special short- and long-term communication projects that increase the TA Network's provision of technical assistance.
Develop and monitor metrics associated with communication's programs. Resolve problems in matters of significance requiring identification and analysis of complex variables pertaining to the TA Network.
Define desired outcomes and deadlines. Manage operational effectiveness within the marketing function to ensure projects specifications and defined outcomes are met.
Identify client needs and communication strategies to develop marketing specifications. Define desired outcomes and deadlines. Manage operational effectiveness within the marketing function to ensure projects specifications and defined outcomes are met.
Manage production and distribution of marketing materials, including brochures, direct mail, and advertising, to a target audience. Generate proposals, contracts and other documents to secure business. Negotiate terms and conditions with some latitude.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's in marketing, advertising, communications, journalism, or degree related to the position is required. Experience: Five (5) years of experience in marketing, communications, or media, public, or client relations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to take a lead role in performing and directing various advanced, routine and maintenance procedures.
