We are hiring an email marketing specialist that needs to understand the right types of content to send to the right people at the right time, both for lead nurturing and to boost the sharing and forwarding of our content and sales-driven emails. This position also coordinates and executes email newsletter communications and email campaigns to support all ASAM products and services. This position reports directly to the Marketing Manager.
Oversee the day-to-day operation of ASAM’s weekly and monthly subscription “opt-in” eNewsletters, including aggregation of stories, production, and distribution.
Support newsletter editors in creating vision, curating content and editorial plan, and writing articles as necessary.
Manage and build various email lists and campaigns, including the design templates, calls-to-action, and content.
Measure results and optimize the nurture tracks for these segments to convert leads to members.
Minimize list decay and unsubscribes while increasing open and click rates.
Develop documentation and road maps for processes, A/B tests, and promotions.
Collaborate with social media team to ensure integration of email and content strategy into all ASAM promotion campaigns.
Contribute to our marketing calendar and maintain updates to our written style guide.
Serve as an exemplary writer, consistent with our associations tone, mission, and style guide.
Must write clean, concise, well-polished copy.
Edit content produced by colleagues, including conceptualizing the projects upfront and copy-editing prior to publishing.
Perform all other duties as assigned or required.

Education, Experience and Technical Abilities:
Minimum 2 years’ experience with email marketing, lead nurturing, marketing automation, and/or email analytics.
Promotional writing experience required and demonstrable
Creating email templates using HTML and CSS helpful
Excellent organizational, oral, and written skills
Expert knowledge of current Microsoft Office Suite software
Use of Campaign Monitor/HubSpot /Marketo email program or similar required and demonstrable
Understanding of email sales funnels and journeys required and demonstrable
Ability to interact positively and effectively with employees at all levels leadership and staff
Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and professional
Positive can-do attitude is an essential as part of this marketing and membership team.
30% Time Spent – ASAM Subscription eNewsletters (aggregation, editing and delivery)
20% Time Spent – email Data, analytics and campaign integration
10% Time Spent – Promotion and content calendar management
Two email project writing samples will be requested at time of interview.
