Athletics Marketing and Graphic Design Assistant - Intern Athletics 1500 hours, Part-time, Non-exempt, Temporary Wage Position #T0009

In support of this mission, we invite qualified applicants to apply for the position of Athletics Marketing and Graphic Design Assistant / Intern in Athletics. The purpose of this position is to assist in the day-to-day operations in the Marketing Office through content creation and campus/community engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES: •Oversight of all marketing and promotional efforts for select Olympic sports •Assist with the marketing and promotional efforts for men’s and women’s basketball •Facilitate press box operations for field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, baseball, softball and lacrosse •Coordination of on and off campus groups including spirit squads, Greek organizations and community ambassadors •Create scripts for all home athletic events •Assist with all community engagement items, such as Little Lancers Kids Club, Education Day and the Reading with the Lancers Program •Conceptualize and design all graphics for social media, videoboard displays, print materials, signage and websites •Manage and/or assist with all department social media accounts •Assist in the oversight of the Lancer Loyalty App •Oversee the student internship program and all game day assistants •Co-advise the Lancer Lunatics student organization and Elwood Mascot Program •Assist with event management for select home athletic events
Pay Band UG. Position limited to a maximum of 29 hours per week and 1500 hours per work year. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits do not accompany this position. REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred • Ability to work nights and weekends • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds • Basic understanding of marketing and event operations • Demonstrated success in handling multiple projects at once • Strong interpersonal communication skills • Graphic design proficiency preferred • Collegiate marketing and/or game operations experience preferred
