Indiana University Kokomo seeks qualified candidates for the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications and Marketing. Indiana University Kokomo athletics is an intercollegiate athletic program and a Division II member of the NAIA. IU Kokomo offers men's and women's cross country, women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball and men's and women's golf, baseball, women's tennis, women's soccer and men's and women's track. This position is a full-time 12 month benefits eligible position.
Assistant Athletic Director: Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Assistant Athletic Director will assist in all aspects of successful professional management of the athletic department with the goal of increasing the profile of IU Kokomo Athletics and enhancement of the student athlete experience. Specific duties include but are not limited to; managing all website content and design, all marketing materials and public communication documents for athletics (printed & web), manage all in game statistical needs as well as game recaps, game programs, scripts for PA announcer, in game promotions and overall coordination of in game event management. Document all records and historical milestones. Manage all media contacts and building relations with various local and regional outlets. Liaison to IU Kokomo media and marketing office for athletic communications. Manage all video and broadcasting content including hiring and staffing play by play broadcasters and video operators. Develop video content for website and intramural programs. Assist in development of a cohesive social media plan and execution. Assist in planning and execution of annual athletic banquet. Serve on IU Kokomo, River States Conference and NAIA committees when possible. Other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in communications or journalism field with a minimum of two years working experience in a sports information office, or related field. Working knowledge of Dak Stats in-game statistical program is desired, but not mandatory. Proficiency in desktop publishing software (Adobe Photoshop/InDesign and/or similar programs) is required. Outstanding written, communication and interpersonal skills required. Flexibility to travel and work nights and weekends is required. Ability to work on deadline and manage several tasks simultaneously required. Working knowledge of university, and NAIA rules and regulations preferred
