NAILBA is the voice of independent brokerage distribution. We are looking for a rock star communicator to join our all-star team.
Develop and refine the association’s integrated marketing communications strategy to increase the visibility, relevance and engagement among key constituencies and markets. This is achieved through the creation and execution of traditional and non-traditional communication vehicles and channels, including public relations and thought leadership, advertising, online marketing, e-newsletters, quarterly publication, annual meeting and exhibits, collateral, videos and social media. Candidate will also refine and manage key measurement focused marketing and communications programs. Candidate will work under minimal supervision under the direction of the CEO. She / he will need a high degree of energy, creativity and latitude as well as a high level of initiative and resourcefulness. This is a hands-on position where you will also be coordinating the work of other team members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and refine the NAILBA integrated marketing communications strategy to ensure communications to key constituents are clear, impactful, creative, results oriented and consistent/aligned where appropriate.
Create innovative, targeted communications programs to drive demand for the NAILBA’s programs and services with the outcome of increased engagement with our digital properties and online communities.
Create the public relations strategy, and provide oversight for the creation of presentations, speeches and talking points given by the CEO/Chairperson and other spokespersons.
Create and manage the content strategy for NAILBA’s quarterly publication and electronic newsletter. Develop content, manage the newsletter schedule and measure the effectiveness of the mailings.
Refine and manage communication and promotion of NAILBA’s Annual Meeting.
Work collaboratively with other departments to maintain web content including content audit, copy creation, editing and/or updating, design changes and measurement.
Develop compelling content for new and current events, blogs, podcasts, product/service launches and promotional campaigns including messaging development and implementation through strategic communication tactics that align with business objectives.
Direct and manage the creation of business development and marketing collateral (for example, brochures, media kits, presentations).
Work with Membership to support product and membership marketing initiatives.
Ensure all communications programs maintain and reinforce the NAILBA’s brand as the voice of independent brokerage distribution.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of insurance and financial services industry.
Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and time management skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and adhere to deadlines.
Demonstrated competence communicating to association membership, media, business and/or regulatory organizations using both traditional and new media marketing channels
Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts
Strong writing and editing skills are essential: to include business communications, promotional copy, web and email content, press materials, blogging, strategic targeted messaging, etc.
Demonstrated effectiveness in public relations
Knows how to get things done, overcomes obstacles, but respects others' points of view and positions
High level of teamwork and interpersonal skills
At least five years' experience in marketing and communications
Experience in creating and executing effective and engaging multi-faceted marketing and communications strategies for multiple audiences
Experience developing and implementing public relations activities to enhance branding and increase constituent engagement
At least three years' experience creating print marketing materials and communications programs
Experience organizing events and issues through proactive messaging and outreach.
Bachelor’s degree in communications or marketing and 5 years of experience in association communications; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
