This position is responsible for developing strategies and implementing plans for Pilgrim’s strategic growth agenda – protecting the base while ensuring our brands’ futures. Includes support plans for both new product/innovation launches and existing product lines that drive awareness and trial of Pilgrim’s Company products. Critical to this position is leadership and collaboration with broader marketing team, internal, cross-functional teams and external partners to align on product positioning and messaging and develop and execute the right tactical plans in the marketplace. This person also owns package design and communication updates to align with brand strategies and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities: Product Planning, Strategy & Creative Development: *Partners with marketing team leadership to develop annual product support plans that drive awareness, trial and other specific goals for Pilgrim’s Co. innovation and existing products and brands *Collaborates with marketing and innovation teams and sales leadership to develop clear strategic direction, tactical plans and critical success measures independently and with external agency partners as required *Collaborates with internal creative staff, vendors and agency partners to inspire creativity, achieve creative excellence and drive alignment across platforms
Lead and manage execution of product support plans and tactics: *Creative brief development that leverages product and consumer insights *Agency creative guidance, development and review and ensure alignment with brand marketing *Manage customer-specific plans and execution, including external shopper marketing agency as needed *Develops and executes consumer research and validation as needed *Execution calendars *On-pack application *Ownership of relevant portions of consumer marketing budget (026)

Building effective teams, motivating others – especially cross-functionally. *Navigate complex challenges: Ability to manage and negotiate with key stakeholders, simplify complex processes, deal with ambiguity, sometimes standing alone. *Bring insight and understanding of the consumer and customer to the innovation development process. *Provide leading brand thinking by identifying transformational business opportunities. *Provide leadership behind core product initiatives critical to maintaining Pilgrim’s Company’s competitive position in categories in which it competes (e.g. product line package redesign, size/configuration reset, identifying and leveraging product attributes) *The role will call for an opportunity to respectfully challenge existing paradigms of thinking, generate and validate hypotheses, and uncover new growth models and brand growth strategies both for the short and long term. *Includes collaborating across functions and with external partners (where applicable) to execute with excellence
Analysis & Reporting: *Develops key performance metrics (KPIs) for aforementioned areas of management, providing Director of Marketing with routine reporting to feed team and company dashboards *Evaluates performance of all major marketing tactics against stated objectives Provides ongoing performance reports and updates to executive management, marketing and innovation team, appropriate sales personnel, and agency partners, as needed *Monitors industry, customer, and consumer trends to stay abreast of competitive landscape and identify opportunities
*7 or more years relevant experience required *Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred
