Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Marketing Specialist for the University's Dining Services department. The Dining Services Marketing Specialist reports to the Assistant Director for Marketing and Communication and is responsible for the development and implementation of a cohesive marketing and communication plan for the department. This plan will include assisting with, digital and print media design and development, branding of the department and its programs, and the coordination of a consistent message with the Division of Student Affairs, recruitment initiatives and all other departmental initiatives.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Serves as the co-chair for the large-scale events committee while implementing marketing connections to this event, represent the department at on and off-campus events, focus on social engagement initiatives that help shape the story of the department, and responsible for attending evening marketing programs to capture events through photography, implement marketing contests, and document moments of student and staff achievements through video interviews.
Serves as the liaison with Student Centers to provide the same service to those units as they do for Dining Services. In addition, this position will also be one of the "faces" of Dining Services throughout the University serving on committees and assist in monitoring the public relations of the Department.
Develops and sustains partnerships with various areas within Student Affairs, including Residence Life, Student Centers, as well as University-Wide areas.
Assists the Assistant Director for Marketing and Communication to create, implement and maintain the Dining Services brand as well as provide support to the multiple Dining Services employee recruitment, training and orientation programs that occur throughout the year.
Maintains and enhances the departmental website, digital menu boards and utilize various forms of social media tools to effectively market our program.
Supervises and coordinates the marketing efforts of the student media team within the department.
This position is also responsible for conducting, leading and/or participating in special projects and committees as assigned to advance the goals, objectives and operational needs of Dining Services. Responsible for all public relations duties for Dining Services to include, but not limited to communications, presentations, speeches, reports, web postings, audio-visual equipment, interviews, complaint research and responses, and special projects.

Must have excellent writing skills, proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Software; Microsoft office; HTML; E-newsletters, and Social Media.
Experience with advertising design is a plus.
