Assist in the planning and execution of marketing responsibilities surrounding 24 varsity sports at the University of Nebraska Athletics Department. Provide oversight of the Husker Nation Pavilion for all home football games including planning, pre-event set up, execution and budget management. Conducts research of new advertising and marketing opportunities to drive student attendance. Design and implement student email marketing campaigns. Manage the student fan rewards attendance program website and app, direct the marketing and promotional efforts of this program on-campus, and coordinates fulfillment of prizes and experience earned by students. Serve as liaison to the Iron N student group. Provides direct supervision to 5-7 marketing student interns for assigned sports while assisting Director of Marketing and Fan Experience in the hiring and training of total student intern staff of 12-15. Long, irregular hours (including requirements to work weekend and nights) will apply especially through the football season and during other assigned sports.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, sports management or related field plus one (1) year of sports marketing experience. Work history will show knowledge of computer design programs needed, such as Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Excellent communication skills necessary. Ideal candidate will have sports marketing specific experience in a collegiate athletics department. Prefer programming skills and knowledge of modern HTML/CSS.
