Social Media – Manage the convention department’s social media presence especially the @APHAAnnualMtg twitter handle and the Annual Meeting hashtag. Attend Social Media Team monthly meetings. Use social media to market the annual meeting and improve the attendee experience. Submit annual meeting stories for Affiliate Affairs Newsletter as well as Inside Public Health. Video Marketing – Develop Promotional/Instructional Web videos; Script and produce videos to improve the attendee experience (such as ‘what to expect’ and ‘how to get around’). Suggest other web-based videos that might be valuable for either promoting the meeting or improving the attendee experience. Act as liaison to WebsEdge [APHA TV] and work with Communications department to schedule interviews and video needs. Print Marketing – Work directly with APHA’s design vendor and the in house design team to create promotional materials including the prospectus, exhibitor postcards and ads for TNH and AJPH. Manage and drive highlights promo (update text, select photos, and coordinate schedule with Designer). Suggest improvements or additions to print marketing and manage any additional printed materials. Maintaining conventions marketing binder. Sponsorship Marketing – Identify potential sponsors for the Annual Meeting. Develop custom sponsorship packages to meet the needs of individual sponsors in order to cultivate long-term relationship. Create sponsorship prospectus and marketing emails. Work in conjunction with Exhibits Manager and Development Manager to secure additional sponsorship dollars.
College degree required, preferably in marketing and/or communications. A minimum of 2 years of marketing experience required. Applicant should be comfortable with online database applications and must be proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, Word) and social media platforms.
Salary mid-high 40’s, commensurate with experience.
Hours: 35 hours a week, full-time, Mon- Fri. (daytime). Number of openings: 1.
