The Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas is seeking a Marketing Communications Manager to strategically promote the faculty, staff, students and research in the fast-growing school. The position requires the ability to creatively tell stories, keeping overall strategy in mind while paying attention to the details. The position will report to the Jonsson School Director of Communications and Marketing.
Bachelor’s degree; five years experience in marketing communications and advertising; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience should include strategy, tactics and production of print and electronic marketing projects, and the ability to creatively tell and integrate stories across marketing platforms. Must be able to manage projects, enforce brand standards and provide excellent customer service. Must be an active listener who can deal with ambiguity and shifting priorities. Familiarity with social media platforms a plus. Demonstrated success creatively marketing technical and scientific research, and managing clients and multiple projects. Experience working in an academic setting, specifically with a scientific department, school, center or clients. Strong skills in organization, active listening and attention to details. Experience managing social media accounts, including creating and posting content, monitoring and responding to feedback, and overall strategy. Demonstrated ability to work in a positive, team-oriented manner with a variety of people (faculty, staff, students and members of the general public). Operates with high standards of ethics and integrity.
