Under the direction from the Executive Director, the Communications and Marketing Specialist is a self-starter who works independently, takes initiative to anticipate and resolve problems, and develops and maintains communication and information systems to ensure organizational visibility and viability. This position is responsible for completing a variety of tasks assigned, but primarily in the areas of information systems, web development, content management, marketing and promotions and publications.
Manage the overall marketing of the society’s programs and services
Prepares, manages and disseminate mass communication content on platforms including email, database newsletter, magazine, and other electronic-based communications etc. for TRAPS, TRAPS Regions and Events
Implement design and distribution strategies for accuracy, consistency and effectiveness re: website and social media outlets
Develop marketing communications campaigns for annual Institute, overall membership and various regional events(e.g., institute brochure, membership brochure, book purchase flier etc.)
Monitor and analyze marketing data (e.g., analytics of website and social media -- Google Analytics) to assist in the development of organizational initiatives and marketing strategies
Coordinates/manages media relations and "messaging" to internal and external audiences, general public and governmental and regulatory entities
Reports communication accomplishments and action plans to management
Good organizational, administrative, multi-tasking, and communication skills; including very strong writing skills, verbal presentation skills and comfort with job flexibility and multi-tasking;
Ability to work effectively and maintain deadlines in a team environment
Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities in a focused and timely manner.
Photography skills and ability to create video content for social media platforms, archives and special projects.
Additional Salary Information: *Additional benefits include 10% annual gross salary into a SEP
