The Direct Marketing Specialist is a member of the Engagement and Acquisition team, part of the Marketing and Communications division. The Specialist will oversee print solicitations, point-of-sale campaigns, and day-of event-based donor acquisition efforts, aligning with the overarching divisional goal of growing and maintaining the donor base for UConn.
Create multichannel alumni engagement and donor acquisition, reacquisition, and retention campaigns in collaboration with other Engagement and Acquisition team members as well as other departments within the Foundation.
Create and project manage print solicitation efforts, maintaining relationships with regional print houses and maintaining service agreements and contracts.
Manage point-of-sale and event donor acquisition campaigns, such as game-day tabling, promotional signage, text-to-give efforts, and premium offers for donations.
Collaborate with Business Intelligence and Programming Services to pull mailing lists and generate queries using Blackbaud CRM.
Provide analysis and reporting on ROI for efforts, suggesting improvements to segmentation and messaging.
Other duties as assigned.
Excellent project management skills and the ability to foster productive relationships both internally, across departments, and externally, with vendors.
Knowledge of and experience in print mail, point-of-sale, and solicitation campaigns.
Excellent proofreading and editing skills, with an eye for detail.
Strong analytical ability—you should enjoy crunching numbers and creating campaigns that are data-driven.
Adept in CRM platforms, ideally Blackbaud CRM or similar tools, as well as working knowledge of the Adobe Suite.
Knowledge of fundraising and inbound marketing extremely helpful, but not mandatory.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, or communications.
Minimum three years’ experience in print mail, point-of-sale, and/or other direct marketing campaigns.
Solid knowledge of and experience in the print production process.
Experience in sales, marketing, or nonprofit fundraising.
