Posting Summary: The University Annual Giving Assistant Director, Direct Marketing leads the coordination and implementation of annual giving solicitation strategies for University Advancement partners including University fundraising priorities Scholarships, Jeffersonian Grounds Initiative, Faculty Support, UVA Parents Fund and UVA Clubs, as well as collaborating with the Reunions team on direct marketing. This position will have daily interaction with established major gift teams as well as the Curry School of Education. The Assistant Director develops and implements a comprehensive strategy to increase philanthropic support from engaged UVA constituents. Working with the Associate Director, Analytics to measure return on investment, the incumbent implements A/B testing, and adapts strategies based on analytics to increase participation and dollars raised. These activities will be in collaboration with the University Advancement partners.

Required Specific Degree/Training: Bachelor's Degree
Required Minimum Level of Experience: Some - up to 4 years
Required Specific Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in one or more of the following: fund-raising, alumni relations, non-profit, project management, communications, or sales/marketing.
Preferred Minimum Level of Experience: Considerable - 4 to 7 years
Preferred Specific Experience: Experience in Higher education or account management or direct marketing.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Understand the principles of philanthropy, higher education, and relationship management.
Understanding of marketing principles.
