Cheesemans’ Ecology Safaris seeks a creative and resourceful Marketing Manager with the ability to create, implement, and assess marketing and inbound sales strategies. As the sole marketing person, you will manage and expand the Cheesemans’ brand, through all advertising and social media outlets and measure and report on marketing and sales performance. A strong commitment to continuously improve knowledge of Cheesemans’ tours and contribute ideas and talents to make Cheesemans’ a premier wildlife safari company are vital. This position works collaboratively with all staff and the owner and reports to the CEO. Duties and Responsibilities • Create and implement marketing strategies to create awareness of Cheesemans’ brand and grow our inbound sales • Conduct general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitors’ marketing strategies • Nurture client relationships including frequent travelers and Cheesemans’ ambassadors • Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, including evaluating effectiveness of strategies to drive sales performance • Manage trip or information queries • Create community feel and engaging content for social media • Create and manage online and print ads for magazines and publications • Maintain website content and coordinate website design changes • Design and coordinate annual Travel Guide brochure • Design and distribute bi-monthly enews • Train and evaluate office staff on copywriting and sales techniques • Build and maintain strong rapport with clients via email and phone • Write captivating promotional copy • Provide customer support for Cheesemans’ Ecology travelers
Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications, business administration, journalism, public relations, or relevant field or relevant experience • Enthusiastic about Cheesemans’ Ecology Safaris’ mission • Proven experience as Marketing Manager • Knowledgeable about current marketing and sales techniques and best practices • Strong leadership and organizational skills, especially managing outside vendors like printers, web designers, etc. • Takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities and deadlines • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills • Ability to work effectively as part of a team • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to write for publication, including translating sometimes complex information into easily readable text (copy writing and editing experience a plus) • Committed to providing the highest quality of customer service • Experience working in a small, fast-paced office environment with many interruptions • Passion for travel and wildlife, international and domestic travel experience is a plus • Knowledge of basic photography principles and basic video editing techniques Beneficial Skills • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop • Experience with WordPress • Basic knowledge of HTML • Adept understanding of SEO • Familiarity with Campaign Monitor • Solid knowledge of print publication processes • Experience with Google Analytics and AdWords • Experience posting and generating ads on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel • Technical aptitude to learn new technologies, software systems, etc. Job Terms and How to Apply • Please see our website for full job terms and how to apply (www.cheesemans.com/jobs).
