This position in Applied Innovation (AI) involves marketing with strong writing skills, familiarity with digital marketing platforms, and an expertise in the life sciences to help promote UCI technology and research talent and, more broadly, enhance UCI's image as global leader in scalable innovation. Under the supervision of the Content Manager, the Life Sciences Marketing Specialist will be focused on writing compelling copy for marketing materials used to support UCI invention licensing and general industry engagement efforts, including writing engaging stories about UCI inventions, inventors, and other businesses/people involved in the AI ecosystem for blog and print materials. Duties also include optimizing social media posts (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram), incorporating pictures and videos into the posts, and writing emails to target audiences interested in the content and to help promote AI science.Responsibilities of the position include project management of written content creation, including building editorial calendars, work-back schedules, and project managing supporting media for written content (e.g. coordinating with photo and video resources as appropriate). Authored materials will be pitched to journalists or publications when appropriate, collaborating with publications to amplify the reach of stories.As a key member of the Applied Innovation Communications team, the Life Sciences Marketing Specialist will understand the UCI Applied Innovation brand and ensure that all content created aligns with brand voice and positioning, including latest messaging priorities.
