A minimum of two years of experience in intercollegiate athletic marketing or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, handle multiple demands efficiently, think ahead, anticipate issues, and successfully work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Possess excellent attention to detail, grammar and proofreading skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, coordinate large projects or events.
Must be available some nights and weekends.
Five years of experience in NCAA athletic marketing.
Perform duties related to developing comprehensive external operations planning that maximizes ticket revenue, spectator and student attendance, fan engagement, and brand awareness for twenty varsity sports with an emphasis on football, volleyball, women’s soccer, and the men’s and women’s basketball programs.
Responsible for athletic marketing operation:
Serving as liaison for corporate partners at orientations.
Managing marketing office, marketing assets, and assisting with the hiring and training of student marketing internship program.
Overseeing development and implementation of the Laker Nation Mobile App.
Assisting with the activation and fulfillment of sponsorships
Assist with the development and execution of a social media plan along with the Director of Digital Media.
Supervise all in-game and special event promotions including planning, design, and execution of plans to build brand awareness and enhance game-day atmosphere.
Game Day presentation and promotions coordination
Assist with corporate sponsor production activities
Game day promotional activities, which include the writing and organization of game day and public address scripts, in-game music, national anthem, and videoboard activations.
Serve as liaison for all student spirit groups (GVSU Laker Marching Band, Cheerleaders, Dance Team, etc.)
Develop and implement special fan events (i.e. Theme Nights, Fanfest, Basketball Bash, Watch Parties, etc).
Liaison with all marketing and promotions external vendors
Provide management support including the development and maintenance of the departmental budget, unit and marketing plans, fostering collegial working relationships with university administration and student services departments.
Carry out other duties assigned by the Assistant Director of Athletics for Sales & Marketing.
