H.O.M.E. DuPage, Inc. formally known as DuPage Homeownership Center, a HUD-approved housing counseling agency serving individuals and families in DuPage County for 26 years, is seeking an experienced Marketing and Events professional to bring their expertise to assist with the development and implementation of effective communications strategies to support the mission and programs of our agency. The focus of this position will be brand recognition, fundraising events, and community awareness. This position is responsible for planning and managing agency events, production of marketing print materials, and writing and publishing social media and public news releases that support the overall communications strategy of H.O.M.E. DuPage, Inc. This position will begin as part time (20-30 hours per week) with the potential of going full time (40 hours per week).
Marketing Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implements (with the Advancement Committee) a comprehensive agency communications plan and calendar.
Manage brand identity, ensuring that brand image and messaging is consistent.
Develop and manages content for website, social media, written and printed materials, and electronic materials.
Assists Executive Director and the Board Advancement Committee as necessary in all marketing efforts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Event Duties & Responsibilities:
Support and execute the full cycle of fundraising events from planning, execution, volunteer recruitment, and follow up.
Works with Advancement Committee to execute any donor-centered cultivation and stewardship events.
Manages marketing needs for events.
Community Engagement Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinates and assists with messaging of all public speaking opportunities for staff as appropriate.
Creates and leads a Speakers Bureau to raise awareness in the community.
Representing H.O.M.E. DuPage, Inc. at community events as needed.
Supervised by Executive Director.
Works closely with the Executive Director, and Advancement Committee.
Establishes and maintains strong relationships with marketing and event vendors, volunteer event committees and the Speakers Bureau members and Community Ambassadors.
Qualifications & Characteristics:
Education: Bachelors Degree required.
Experience: Minimum of five years of marketing and event experience. Experience working within a nonprofit fundraising department preferred. Must demonstrate excellent communication, verbal and written skills.
Training:Must be detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time while meeting deadlines. Must demonstrate strong problem solving skills.
Technical:Must be proficient in social media platforms, website management platforms and electronic communication platforms, such as Constant Contact.
Social Skills:Must be a positive, ideal team player with the ability to work independently and able to take initiative.
Leadership:Must demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and good judgment.
Position requires evening and weekend hours for events and other meetings as needed.
Must have privately owned vehicle, valid drivers license and liability insurance. Travel between office and partnering sites required.
Must be able to operate general office equipment.
Must be able to stand/walk for periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
